An amendment to grant incarcerated individuals the right to vote failed in the House of Representatives by a vote of 97 to 328. The amendment was authored and sponsored by members of “the Squad,” a group of progressive lawmakers in the House which includes Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Rep. Ayanna Pressley. Georgia House passes GOP bill rolling back voting access
Republicans in the Georgia House of Representatives have passed a bill which restricts voting access. The bill requires a photo ID for absentee voting, limits the amount of time voters have to request an absentee ballot, restricts where ballot drop boxes could be located and when they could be accessed, and limits early voting hours on weekends. Election officials in Stark County, Ohio, are facing pushback for their decision to purchase new voting machines from Dominion. The annual Conservative Political Action Committee (CPAC) conference was held in Orlando this year. Speakers throughout the conference repeated false and disproven claims of voter fraud and allegations that the 2020 election was rigged in favor of Joe Biden.
