A recent poll indicates 63% of Americans believe the charges approved by a grand jury in Georgia related to Trump’s efforts to overturn the 2020 presidential election are serious or somewhat serious. Additionally, only 15% of respondents believe the charges against Trump are not serious at all and a mere 10% believe they are not too serious. A two page memo regarding the first Republican presidential primary debate written by a pro-Desantis super PAC was recently leaked and published online. The memo outlines a potential strategy for the Florida Governor to use during the debate, encouraging him to defend Donald Trump when Chris Christie attacks him. Ohio voters defeated a Republican-backed proposal that would have made it more challenging to change the state’s constitution. Had the measure passed, Issue 1 would have switched the threshold for passing a constitutional amendment from a simple majority to a 60% supermajority. This special election may have major consequences in the near future, with a fall campaign in which  voters will decide whether or not to enshrine abortion rights into the Ohio state constitution.
