Election officials hold art contest to celebrate voting
The Pitt County, North Carolina Board of Elections is hosting an art contest in an effort to engage children and the general public in the election process. Children ages 8-14 have the opportunity to design “I Voted” stickers while anyone age 15 and up can submit “My Vote” visual art designs. Minnesota enacts automatic voter registration, penalties for election misinformation
Minnesota will have automatic voter registration going forward under a new bill signed by Governor Tim Walz. The Democratic Governor claims this change, and other changes including pre registration for 16- and 17-year-olds and a permanent absentee ballot option, will help the state of Minnesota continue to be a leader in voter participation. According to the Secretary of State’s office automatic registration is estimated to add 450,000 new or updated voter registrations per year.
