Vice President Harris breaks nearly 200-year-old record for Senate tiebreaker votes, casts her 32nd

Vice President Harris cast her 32nd tie breaking vote in the Senate this week, breaking a nearly 200-year-old record. The previous record holder was John C. Calhoun, who cast 31 tie breaking votes when he served as vice president from 1825-1832.
