A recent poll indicates 63% of Americans believe the charges approved by a grand jury in Georgia related to Trump’s efforts to overturn the 2020 presidential election are serious or somewhat serious. Additionally, only 15% of respondents believe the charges against Trump are not serious at all and a mere 10% believe they are not too serious. Brandon Johnson, a former public school teacher, has won Chicago’s mayoral election. Johnson defeated Paul Vallas, former Chicago Public Schools CEO, in a tight race winning approximately 51% of the vote to Vallas’ 49%. Johnson made it clear in his victory speech that he wants to govern for all citizens of Chicago saying, "To the Chicagoans who did not vote for me, here's what I want you to know: That I care about you, I value you, and I want to hear from you.

Democratic candidate Jennifer McClellan will face Republican Leon Benjamin on Tuesday February 21st in a special election for Virginia’s 4th Congressional District. A bill to reform the process for certifying the election of the President of the United States has passed the House of Representatives, 229-203. 9 Republicans - including the bill’s co-author, outgoing Rep.
