The state of Oregon and New York City’s pension fund have sued Fox Corporation alleging Fox harmed investors by allowing Fox News to air falsehoods regarding the 2020 election that exposed the network to defamation lawsuits. In a 22-11 vote entirely along party lines, Republicans in Wisconsin voted to remove Meagan Wolfe, a non-partisan administrator of the state’s elections commission. The vote led to a lawsuit from Wisconsin Attorney General Josh Kaul who claims the Senate lacks the authority to remove Wolfe. China suspected of using AI on social media to sway US voters, Microsoft says
Microsoft researchers claim to have found what they believe to be a network of fraudulent Chinese-controlled social media accounts attempting to influence US voters using artificial intelligence. While researchers have not specified which social media platforms were affected, screenshots within their report show posts that appear to be on Facebook and Twitter. A Chinese embassy spokesperson denied the accusations, saying that China advocates for the safe use of artificial intelligence.
