State of Oregon sues Fox over 2020 election coverage
The state of Oregon and New York City’s pension fund have sued Fox Corporation alleging Fox harmed investors by allowing Fox News to air falsehoods regarding the 2020 election that exposed the network to defamation lawsuits. Oregon Attorney General Ellen Rosenblum claims Fox violated its fiduciary duties by disregarding legal risks; New York City Comptroller Brad Lander echoed Rosenblum’s statement adding that Fox’s board of directors blatantly disregarded the need for journalistic standards and failed to put safeguards in place.
