China suspected of using AI on social media to sway US voters, Microsoft says

Microsoft researchers claim to have found what they believe to be a network of fraudulent Chinese-controlled social media accounts attempting to influence US voters using artificial intelligence. While researchers have not specified which social media platforms were affected, screenshots within their report show posts that appear to be on Facebook and Twitter. A Chinese embassy spokesperson denied the accusations, saying that China advocates for the safe use of artificial intelligence.
