After a campaign focused on protecting abortion rights, Virginia Democrats swept Tuesday’s legislative elections and retook full control of the general assembly. The election comes as a blow to Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin and his Republican colleagues who expended a significant amount of resources in their effort to ensure GOP control of the state’s government.
