Maine’s top election official removes Trump from 2024 ballot

Maine’s Secretary of State, Shenna Bellows, has removed former President Donald Trump from the state’s 2024 primary ballot based on the 14th Amendment’s “insurrectionist ban.” The decision makes Maine the second state to disqualify Trump from office after the Colorado Supreme Court ruling earlier this month which removed Trump from the Colorado ballot. In response Trump’s team stated that they plan to file a judicial appeal.
