The church leaders represent hundreds of thousands of congregants who have become increasingly distressed over the suffering of Palestinians in Gaza and critical of the United States response. The clergymen claim their parishioners are so dismayed by the president’s posture toward the conflict that they may not be able to support his re-election bid.
