With candidates winning primaries without majorities, 2 GOP lawmakers eye ranked-choice voting
Republican lawmakers in Utah are proposing a bill to introduce ranked-choice voting to their state. These lawmakers and other supporters of the bill point to the 2020 Republican gubernatorial primary (in which the winning candidate only received 37% of the vote) as the type of issue ranked-choice voting would fix.
Young adults will be the nation’s largest voting bloc in the upcoming election and the National Voter Education Week plans to equip them with the tools and information they need to cast a ballot this fall.
