Arizona prevents election recount nightmare scenario with a bipartisan fix

Republicans and Democrats in Arizona came together to approve an important legislative tweak to the battleground state’s election policies ahead of 2024. The bill moves the state’s primary from August 6th to July 30th, and changes other policies to make sure election workers have ample time to count ballots and that military and overseas voters receive their ballots in a timely fashion. Additionally, the bill enshrines signature verification policies into state law, a provision Republicans sought during negotiations for the bill.
