The U.S. has already hit 70% of total 2016 early voting

Expansion of vote-by-mail because of the COVID-19 epidemic has led to a massive increase in early voting in 2020 over 2016. Democrats in particular are taking advantage of the opportunity to vote before November 3rd, according to states that provide a partisan breakdown of early ballots. Republicans, on the other hand, are much more likely to tell pollsters that they’ll be voting in person on Election Day.
